SA National Software Development Capability

The Meraka Institute is undertaking an initiative to build national software development capability in South Africa. The main aims of the project are to build and strengthen national software development capability, stimulate increased levels of software-related innovation and provide R&D support for the South African adoptions of FOSS.

Our approach

In order to bring the project to fruition, a software development R&D capability and needs survey in government and industry is being conducted. A major portion of this project consists of a web-based questionnaire that interrogates software developers and users of specialised software about their activities, processes and needs.

Your role

If you fill in the questionnaire, you are not only helping to shape the initiative, but you will also receive high-level feedback upon completion of the study. In addition, you also stand a chance to win an iPod Touch.

Your are therefore encouraged to participate in the study by completing the questionnaire, located at http://meraka-software-survey.appspot.com/main.
