Digital Doorway - Progress

Introduction of computer literacy for all South Africans through minimally invasive education - first Digital Doorway installed in Cwili, Eastern Cape, December 2002

Promoting computer literacy and learning for all South Africans - installation of second Digital Doorway in Mamelodi, Gauteng, December 2003

Providing simultaneous access to four users on the Digital Doorway – installation of the first four-seater in Mapela, Limpopo, September 2004

Massification phase of the Digital Doorway initiative in nine provinces commenced in December 2004 with the deployment of a four-seater Digital Doorway at Mamitwa, Limpopo, December 2004. The sites selected represent a good mix of rural, peri-urban and urban areas and have seen some 100 seats installed country-wide.
