Already a number of projects have been initiated, as follows:

MobiLed

The development of a mobile learning platform to support the use of mobile technologies and devices to create collaborative formal and informal learning opportunities.

Young Engineers Programme

Exposing children to ICT and engineering principles via various interventions:

  • extra-mural activities (technology clubs, extra classes);
  • enrichment programmes (e.g. via holiday programmes, camps, summer schools);
  • competitions;
  • workshops, presentations, seminars (e.g. via Science Week, Science Unlimited, SciFest);
  • integration of research results into teaching practice (national curriculum);
  • mentorship;
  • via robotics, technology building-blocks and other physical learning objects to support hands-on learning.

TekkieTots

Exposing pre-school children to a technology experience.

Physical Learning Objects

Experimental research and design into the creation of tangible, intelligent learning objects. Initial work has been demonstrated at SciFest/Science Unlimited in March 2006:

  • Body PingPong
  • BlueBot
  • LightMusic
  • GameBlocks

Sun2Ice/Kids’ Club

Supporting hands-on, experiential learning via technology clubs for children aged 9 -12.
